The short version
Finish the tutorial, claim currently available account rewards, follow the main quest, register new spirits along the way, complete available Magic Handbook lessons, and prepare one useful travel spirit. Spend remaining stamina only after you know which collection or upgrade goal you are pursuing.
There is no single correct starter
Several 4399 and TapTap guides favor Firespark for early clearing speed, while the Ali213 guide values Waterblue for longer-term utility. Pick around your play style instead of restarting an account over one ranking: Firespark favors direct early damage, Waterblue suits steadier exploration, and Meowmeow remains a valid choice for players who prefer it. The other starters can be collected later.
Follow progression before grinding
Main quests and the Magic Handbook unlock major features. Follow interactive tutorial steps, then check quest tracking, new Handbook lessons, and nearby teleport points when progress slows. Repeatedly fighting ordinary enemies is rarely the first solution to an early progression block.
Fill the index without upgrading everything
Current beginner guides consistently treat spirit registration as an important early source of progress. Catch unregistered spirits you meet, but keep upgrade resources focused on one or two dependable party members. Use the Spirit Index and Skill Library before committing materials.
Save scarce resources
Keep enough currency for quests and clear upgrade goals, spend stamina where it advances more than one objective, and reserve rare capture items for targets you actually want. For traveling merchant stock, check the Item Index and the merchant buying guide before clearing limited inventory.
